Basic guidelines to follow while purchasing Fengshui and Vastu objects:- 

1. Make sure you purchase objects from spiritual stores and 'not' from gift stores. The object carries the energy that you are bringing home. If it was touched, seen, displayed and handled in a regular shop- you bring with it the energies of that many individuals which may contain residual energy blocks or negativity.
2. Purchase objects from positive individuals. Spirituality is a world apart from profit, money making and business. The intention with which the object is blessed and given to you is what will work for you towards achieving your goals. 
3. Objects when bought bring some both negative energy and some positive energy depending on who and where you got it from. The only way to ensure 100% positive energy through the object, it is best to buy energized objects which are energized on the spot specifically for you. 
4. There is no hard and fast rule that Fengshui and Vastu objects should be gifted. It is better than traditional gifts, because the positive energy of gifting someone Fengshui comes back to you and gives you fortune. Fengshui can be bought, gifted or donated. 
5. Colours, patterns, symbols, art work, handmade work, adjudicative fengshui charms and other details of the products are very significant. They matter. Always ask the expert for substitutes to an object if some detail is missing in it. 
6. Never use someone else's old Fengshui hand me downs or used articles or slightly faded or damaged objects. They will contain both the negativity and positive energy of the previous person. You can get any sort of result from it. Always get new Fengshui. 
7. Exchanging used Fengshui or Vastu objects is like exchanging or transferring the accumulated energies- good, bad, malicious, poison arrows, blocks etc. When objects are used for more than one individual, certain things need to be ensured, which your consultant will help you with during purchase. 
8. Fengshui objects are imports. Predominantly, these objects are not manufactured in India. Replicas are made locally these days to cut cost of imports. Always make sure that they are genuine imported Fengshui objects and request details about what the product is for. 
9. Local gift shops and profit oriented sales shops do not provide knowledge based services. They may lack the knowledge, expertise, research, qualifications and necessary information about Vastu and Fengshui objects. Try to procure objects from qualified, well trained and knowledgeable experts. Look up the qualifications and years of experience of the spiritual object provider. They may mislead, misinform or manipulate you just to sell goods in local shops and gift shops. 
10. Make sure all Fengshui and Vastu objects are Energized by spiritual masters for your life long benefit. Without energizing, they are as good as showpieces. They may produce negative effects as well. 
11. Objects should be placed accurately as per your date of birth, property arrangement of your specific property and the issues you are facing. Do not follow general directions mentioned in books. The general directions might happen to be a negative direction as per your date of birth or as per the unlucky direction of your property. 13. Always get the products you purchase energized by a spiritual master and Fengshui-Vastu expert. That way the energy is sealed for you for life and no negativity can emanate from it. 
14. Rather than comparing prices and bargaining; look for a shop or individual or business where you can get authentic Fengshui and Vastu products, energizing and consultation/guidance in one place. 
15. Buying Fengshui and Vastu objects online may be convenient, but invariably the general directions provided in listings may or may not work for you or your property specifically. In case you sense any negativity in any aspect like career, happiness, people relations, education, money, dhristi, health etc- consult an expert about objects already bought online. 
16. Suppose you have already furnished your house with Vastu and Fengshui objects bought from various sources and are not energized- not to worry! If you feel they may or may not be placed as per your property and date of births, then take the objects and a house map to a Fengshui expert. Get a rectification done. Also request for the objects to be energized. 
17. Always wait for 3 to 12 months to see results. Some experience results sooner or later. The time taken is subjective. Better results are seen when the objects are personally energized for you and placed as per consultation. 
18. Fengshui and Vastu are not miracle cures. But they have been so effective that they are being implemented since thousands of years. Pick knowledgeable and honest consultants or spiritual stores where they do not make false guarantees or promises. 
19. Certain Fengshui objects are specifically made of materials which adhere to principles of Fengshui. Shopkeepers in usual roadside shops selling idols may not know about this. 
20. Some Fengshui and Vastu objects when placed in opposing or similar directions can interact and cause unpredictable results. If you have more than one Fengshui or Vastu object at home, it is best to consult with the expert or spiritual store from where you procured them as to how to place them without any negative interaction. 
21. Do not stack up or hoard Fengshui and Vastu objects as and where you like if you buy them online. This creates overwhelming and unbalanced energy. Get a professional opinion. 
22. Fengshui and Vastu objects when broken should be disposed respectably. Energized objects take the negative energy with them when they are gone. Regular objects bought from any source, without energizing can spill negativity when they break.
